Kunsthalle Fridericianum

The 2009 Spaziergang, a special version of the traditional annual 'Rundgang'-exhibition by art students of the Kunsthochschule Kassel, will be an ambitious project breaking new ground. For the first time the works are being shown at unexpected locations as well as at established Kassel cultural institutions.

'Spaziergang' means 'walk' and is actually meant to be experienced by walking through the city. The largest presentation is shown at Fridericianum with about 50 projects from individual artists, collectives and art school classes from the areas of design, animation and new media, illustration, photography and more. For the Kunsthalle Fridericianum it's kind of an insert in its program, enabling to take a closer look at the local art scene and the specific developments at the school. It's like a snapshot of a process of academic education and artistic development.
