Working in close cooperation, Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kunsthochschule Kassel (Kassel School of Art) and Staatstheater Kassel (Kassel State Theatre) are venturing to transcend the conventional borders between the fine and performing arts. Unfun is a mix between acting, media art and installation, and at the same time seeks to artistically engage with the current exhibition. It is directed by Nils-Arne Kässens, who adapted Faldbakken’s novel for the stage. The media artist Joel Baumann will create a space for the piece, which will be a cross between an installation and a stage set.
On Thursday, 16 December 2011, the piece Unfun, adapted from a novel by Matias Faldbakken, will premiere at Kunsthalle Fridericianum. Performances will take place at 8 p.m., and Danh Vo’s exhibition JULY, IV, MDCCLXXVI will be open from 7 p.m.
